Ya, that...ORRR maybe I just want a competitor to Android's Google Wallet on my Blackberry? Has it ever occurred to you that I might not have a single cent of debt? Your assumptions and accusations really don't do you any justice. Let me ask you this; how exactly does tapping your phone instead of swiping your car increase your debt? They are both just as convenient. The only difference is that for some users, it would be a lot safer to carry a phone w/ a password than a card.

Take a look at your own previous comments here and tell me they don't parrot the selling points of CIBC and Rogers on this. Either you have some kind of self-interest to keep showing up here to argue these selling points or you're one of those amazingly gullible consumers so taken in by corporate marketing campaigns that tell you how to spend your money, how to amass debt, and what's "cool" that somebody really COULD sell you a swamp-front property.

AHAHAHAHA the fact that you accuse me of being some spokesperson just shows how paranoid you are. Do you wear a tin hat at home? Go look through my channel, I've commented on a wide range of videos that have nothing to do with CIBC. I've had this youtube account for a long time...ever since google allowed gmail account sign in for youtube. Oh...and the reason I like this feature, is because I want Blackberry to have a Google Wallet competitor. Take your tin foil hat off :)

And that, my friends, was pure marketing spin from CIBC and Rogers, brought to you by some dude called "NeutralGenericUser".
Dude, your nick is a joke that's not gonna fool anyone but total fools.
The banks will (no doubt successfully) push NFC as something cool for "tech savvy individuals" in order to get more fools further addicted to living in debt. The "more convenient" and "cooler" the means to pile up debt, the higher the profits of banks and credit card cos. will soar. It's that simple.

Your logic is so flawed, I don't even know where to begin. You started by claiming that this specific product is supposedly not good for consumers. I countered by saying that it is no different than swiping a credit card (except it is safer, and more convenient). Now you're arguing the merits of staying out of debt. This mobile payment app is great news for any tech savvy individual and is no more likely to get you into debt than the credit card it replaces.

"Common sense" says: "Fall into debt and stay in debt!" The banks succeeded in making this craziness become "common sense" a long time ago. And it's made them very, very rich.
"Uncommon sense"? Unless it's a real emergency, stay out of debt. If you acquire any debt at all, make eliminating it ASAP your top priority.

Yes, because using your phone instead of a card will make you fall in debt -.- Have some common sense...

Great for credit card companies and their partner banks, NOT great for consumers, as it will encourage greater debt and therefore greater interest rate payments.
Key question about NFC technology's application: Will it be offered as a direct debit service (i.e. like a simple debit/banking card)?
