From our two hour Sports Massage DVD by Real Bodywork. This comprehensive DVD includes more than two hours of footage detailing 13 sessions that will give you the tools to work with runners, cyclists, swimmers, tennis players and other athletes. Learn about the physiological principles that govern sports massage and the differences between each sport. The 13 sessions include a pre-event massage for runners, an inter-event massage for tennis players, and a post-event session for cyclists. The other sessions are detailed sequences for the following injuries: plantar fascitis, shin splints, ITB syndrome, hamstring strain, neck pain, back pain, ankle sprains, patellar tendonitis, tennis elbow and the rotator cuff. Each session is a complete treatment protocol that will help to keep your athlete in top shape, recover from injuries, and improve their performance. This DVD also includes information on stretches, sport psychology, diet, and how to set up a massage station at a sporting event. Real Bodywork's great graphics and clear filming make this DVD an outstanding educational resource for those who want to work with athletes.

Comes with a 14 page booklet that mirrors the techniques shown in the video.

  • true, but all he will tell me to do is to not use it for a month

  • Massage the area and around it and even the whole lower leg. Don't be scared to use pressure, there is no danger and it is extremely beneficial.

telling someone to stop practicing the activity that gives him his ''shin splint'' is a very obvious sign of ignorance.

try it often, everyday if possible and you will se great results soon.

  • yes! you have shin splints (well probably not by now haha) but i had them too and there is an AMAZING exercise that gets rid of them almost instantaneously. it doesn't feel like it does, but they're gone the next morning!!!

i'll try to make a video on it....its such an amazing exercise. lol

  • Sorry theoryparker. Quite correct.

  • Shouldn't your boots make contact with your entire shin? You may need to make some adjustments. To help heal yourself, apply a warm, wet towel to the area for 3-5 min then massage the area, including using your thumbs to "strip" the muscle away from the bone (but not so deep it is too painful). Be sure to massage the antagonist muscle, the gastocs, too. You might want to massage your legs before skiing also.

  • "Alludes."
