Actually you should learn more about Albinony and this piece. BC this piece is Pre Classical and it is Albinoni's. Just because it does not have a basso continuo doesn't mean anything. It was a "getting out of the mold" piece for him... I played this in an adaptation for flute as a soloist and orchestra. Trust me, I do my homework ;)
I like your choice of word "greatness" to describe the film. I watch the film every ANZAC Day each year - Australia's memorial day and named after the Aussies who fought and died in the Gallipoli campaign.
That's true. Well, since not everyone has the ability to see things as we do, I wanted to leave it up to him to discover the greatness of "Gallipoli". But now that i found a "supporter" in you , i can express it clearly: People it is strongly recommended that you watch this movie ! :) Peace
You are "mostly" correct, this lovely piece is was indeed composed in 1958 by Giazotto, and it is classified as "Neo-Baroque". Yet, it appears to have been based on fragments from a slow movement of an Albinoni trio sonata he had been sent by the Dresden State Library (between 1715-1723)
