These voices really suite the whole feel of the movie. These two get slagged off by quite a few people, but I really enjoy it: the texture of their voices really suites the strange, almost alien characters, and the weird atmosphere the movie makes.

What is a voice texture?

@Moratorium It's not really a technical term, I was just referring to the general feel. Take a, "rough voice" for example. Strictly speaking, it's not possible for a voice to be rough, but you understand what a rough voice might sound like given how something physical is rough.
Sorry for the long, technical explanation, but I don't know a better way to explain.

It is important to know in vocal terms because if you want to reproduce it, you cannot take a metaphor like that. I want something like "speak from the stomach", "speak loud" etc. Something feasable, you know...

@Moratorium Of course, but those generally apply well to sounds since speaking from the stomach produces a clearer, stronger sound, while speaking loud simply increases the volume. On the other hand, now two people have the same texture, even if they speak at the same volume and pitch. That's what I am referring to here.

P.S: I'm not a vocal expert, I'm just some dude off the internet ;)
