President Barack Obama's second news conference since his inauguration went well this week, but the immediate commentary on Fox News about the press conference was just another example of a weird right wing obsession with the method President Obama uses to read his prepared statements as I show in this video explicated by clips from Fox News' coverage, HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher," and CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman."

The Fox News clip comes from Fox News' coverage of President Barack Obama's March 24, 2009, press conference (not available online)

Also, although the March 27, 2009, broadcast is not available on the HBO website, you can find more information about HBO's "Real Time with Bill Maher" at http://www.hbo.com/billmaher/

In contrast, the entire March 23, 2009, episode of CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman" from which I took my short clip is available on the CBS website at http://tinyurl.com/Dave20090323

You can also find my July 21, 2007, YouTube video titled "Fox News Faults Obama For Keeping Kids Safe, Using Notes?" that I mention in this video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs9iC64mXhY

And, finally, as always, you can find DOZENS and DOZENS more examples of Fox News bias on my Fox News bias playlist on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A3BD2524FE99BD4D

  • Do a youtube search using the words- Obama full q&a. It's the first video to come up from CSPAN.

You'll see whether Obama can speak and think (or not), without the teleprompter. At 1:45 the sound improves. At 3:15 the first question is actually asked.

  • How much longer do we have to hear about Bush!?! Whenever ANY liberal is critized I hear, well Bush this, Bush that, Bush was an idiot, Bush killed the economy. We need to move on and not hold anyone to this old standard!!!

  • Fox's Hero Reagan used a teleprompter too.

    LOL

  • @theRightizright Wow, way to not address the teleprompter issue at all in your comment. All you succeeded to do here is repeat a bunch of annoying arguments your conservative buddies all parrot all day already.

Guess i shouldnt expect someone whose name is "therightizright" not much room for open-mindedness there, eh?

  • Fox is attempting to assert that reading from a teleprompter is a bad thing?

Thereby, they're implying that everybody should have a speech memorized? Do they realize how many speehes any President has to give? Essentially, it's taking the speech from a notecard or paper, and having it run from a teleprompter.

I swear, Fox News is the epitome of stupidity and bias.

  • Because he doesn't have an opinion he reads from a script.....Duh

  • The next GOP President will NOT use a teleprompter. I'm sure of it.

  • Bit rough on Jan Brewer considering she didn't have access to teleprompters!
