Several of my viewers in Norway asked about Fox News bias in coverage of the terrible bombing and shooting in Norway last month that Fox News initially blamed on Muslims and then switched to denial of the religious motivation for the attacks when the suspect, Anders Breivik, turned out to be Christian, as I show in this video.

I don't think the type of religion is that important here but extremism is. I'm from Japan and this county is neither Muslim nor Christian but state Shinto (an indigenous Japanese religion adopted by the state) did play a big role in making people believe in an extremist ideology in WW2. Religion can do a lot of good but when it is used for a justification of a political agenda, it becomes deadly. I'm an atheist and I don't think anything could give a person the right to take another's life but

The terrorist IS a christian. It's a FACT. But :

If anyone was to say "look he's a christian, see for yourself what christian faith leads to", they would be wrong. Of course they would be. But Bill O'Reilly goes on in the same way about atheists. "Look at Stalin. He was an atheist. He murdered millions. See what godlessness does". That's Bill's broken record and he never stops.

of COURSE the religion matters! sam harris has an apt analogy in which he compares religion to sports: there are certain sports that are inherently dangerous(cf. religion). conversely, some sports(and religions) are inherently non-violent — "the more extreme you are as a jain, the less we have to worry about you." ALL of the abrahamic texts condone(even command) atrocities, and even the ones whose brutality has been mitigated by modernism(judaism/christianity­) are still a potential powder keg.
