Search for Empire State Human Not as hardcore but worth a listen. There was some great stuff bubbling up late 70's Ultravox, before Midge Ure rolled up and commercialised them are my favourite, saw the original llead singer John Foxx live last week, still groundbreaking

It was great and I don't want to diasagree but don't dismiss early Ultravox! The John Foxx Set up were way ahead of their time. Systems of Romance from the same year was groundbreaking and their earlier albums with electric violin and home made synths were awesome. Search youtube for Ha!Ha1Ha! & Ultravox!

Moroder had proper studio to work in with a whole host of equipment to work with, Human league built some of their first synths from scratch themselves from kit form, Martyn Ware had to chose between learning to drive or buying a synth, he bought the synth and he still doesn't drive to this day. Finally it's two different types of music Moroder was dance music with the same few words repeated throughout the music Human League were more industrial Avant-garde with meaningful lyrics.

This is a classic...Like all pre-DARE! songs, this has a "dark" and "heavy" Machine-driven quality, plus like all HL songs from all albums, Phil has "encoded" some very intellectual messages into his lyrics, but for most, this is NOT easy-listening.

Absolute class. Why does something made 34 years ago have more balls, power and originality than a LOT of music made now? It amazes me.......
