unless the property taxes come down, I don't think the house market is going to comeback anytime soon, I personally try to put 50k down on a 170k house with taxes(9400) and ins(1000)and 4.38% INT on 30year fixed, the mortgage came in at 1500 a month which is more than half my monthly salary,with food,clothing,utilities, car payments and cc debt,I'll be lucky if I have money left for gas.
You've got a very good point! What's the chance of taxes coming down?
