Great Rob Grill vocals on one of the last Grass Roots records to chart. Should have been a bigger seller than it was. Enjoy!

  • i like the way u put the images with the song just spectacular!!!!!!!

  • @charliedontsurf70 Thanks for noticing. Being a lyricist and a Language Arts teacher, I kind of have an ear for words and images, I guess.

  • What a great song, what a great band. The GrassRoots set the standard for great music. It is awesome.

  • They do not get a lot of props for their body of work by critics or musicians but you have to respect their chart success.

  • I love 60's ~ 70's . They have great sound !!Even now i love them . Thanks !!

  • Yep, summer '72 still one of the greatest I've ever had, It's hard to believe they had only 2 top 10 hits, they were so much better than that.

  • I'll always associate this song with the movie "Frogs." They both came out in the summer of 1972: "Today the pond... tomorrow the world!"

  • one of my favorite Grass Roots songs.

  • I love this song. It is the Grass Roots at their finest. Thank you for posting.

  • This takes me back to the summer of '72...great memories. Heard some really BAD news today...Rob Grill passed away. This group was always very underrated. Rest In Peace Rob, you will never be forgotton by your fans!

  • @jwmellott Rob did not have a stroke. However he has a bone disease which causes him a great deal of pain and he has been through numerous surgeries. He makes a few appearances with the band but for the most part, The Grass Roots is made up of the same guys that have been with him for close to 25 years plus his hand pick successor, Mark Dawson. But the Grass Roots is fully owned 1oo pct by Rob and he does do an occasional gig esp in FL.

  • Love that heavy horn work.

  • I saw them in Cleveland last week. It had a bunch of older guys in the band, but not Rob Grill. The two times before, Grill was there with a backup band of younger people. I read that he had a stroke. Is he retired? Are the older guys his old band-mates now rejoined?
