Whether or not a rat is loving pretty much depends on the particular rat. As for their "NATURAL mannerisms", you might say the same thing about wolves and domestic dogs: pet rats are very different from wild rats, and it's more than just a matter of training.
I loved my rats that I had as pets. I didn't know they "laughed", but I love this video every time I see it. They are highly intelligent and have wonderful personalities that are just as unique from each other as pet dogs and cats are. Mine would get excited and dig and burrow in the clean litter when I cleaned his cage. Like others have said, rats realy are clean animals.

Rats' natural mannerism don't compare to wolves or domesticated dogs, so I don't know what you were getting at there.
The difference between pet rats and natural rats is 100% attributed to training.

But, alas, that is your opinion and your entitled to it.
