@redtimmy No, he's not lip-syncing. The video is from a kinescope, the audio is from a magnetic tape recording of the same program, hence the disparity between the good quality sound and the relatively poor quality image. Also, the audio might be a micro-second out-of-sync, but you'll notice when he fiddles with the mike, the little bumps are audible.

This is one of the first pop songs I remember. One day, my mother was driving home in the rain, I was laying down with my head on her leg, and she began to sing this song. I started crying; she thought I was sick. I explained I was crying because I just felt so sorry for the poor little cloud.
