Now this is the law of the jungle -
As old and as true as the sky;
And the wolf that keep it may prosper,
But the wolf that shall break it may die.
As the creeper that girdles the tree trunk,
The law runneth forward and back -
And the strength of the pack is the wolf
And the strength of the wolf is the pack.

August Turak talks of the red hot cannonball of zen. Is his karma missing?

@TheJamezMan and again, if you expect me to footnote every book and article i've ever read on biblical scholarship, then you will be waiting a long time; go do the research yourself; Jesus was a man to be admired, but not someone to be worshiped

@MoDeeSeventyThree The Catholic church came out of the Roman Empire and adopted the pagan adaptations of Mithra's. Where the Vatican now stands used to be a pagan temple. They changed the Sabbath and allows Idols in the church. Religious institutions have perverted the Bible. I don't blame you for being a ex-catholic, its not true Biblical Christianity. They are one of the biggest group of pedophiles and fear-mongers in the world. Still looking for some evidence for your claim.

@TheJamezMan what, do you want me to start citing books and papers now, I only have so many characters....I have considered both sides, I grew up Catholic and was very interested in delving into my faith and answering the "big" questions of life....I did that, and I have concluded like most who do such an exercise, including many clergymen, that Christianity was founded on a grave misunderstanding of the gospel writings and the writings of Paul

@MoDeeSeventyThree What makes it bullshit is that you provided no evidence for your claim that "most" scholars agree with the conception you noted. I could have it wrong, but you may be wrong, it would be wise to consider both ideas.

@TheJamezMan what makes it bullshit? the fact is, when the gospel writers write of miracles, they don't mean actual events that took place, they wrote it as a form of midrash, a way to explain the Jesus experience through the the tales of the old testament; this is why most of the fantastical stories of the gospels have a tie in or refer back to stories of the old testament, they are a way of communicating to the Jewish people in language and symbols they already understood; you got it wrong

@MoDeeSeventyThree I can only speak for myself and those close to me but spiritual phenomena can defy our current conscious experience. Events have happened in many peoples lives including mine which completely defy the laws of "nature" so to say. Nor did I experience all these events alone. Go read Holographic Universe. The Bible is clear what is literal, parable, and figurative. Go read it again, especially the words in red. "Most" scholars is a bullshit statement.

@TheJamezMan Most biblical scholars have done a good job of outlining what was fact and what was fiction; for example, you might believe that Jesus walked on water or raised people from the dead, I don't because it is impossible according to the laws of nature; the gospel writers wrote this not intending for it to be taken literally; it was meant for a Jewish audience; and a Jewish audience would understand its significance; the Gentiles who adopted "Christianity" couldn't see this, much like u

@MoDeeSeventyThree You don't know that it is a myth. YOU believe a myth that it didn't happen. You just denied what you were unsure of and spoke it as truth.
@WildernessTree buddhism has nothing to to with belief or no belief in god. there are many forms of buddhism. the Buddha was silent on the existence of god. if you take the pure teachings of the Buddha, they are more related to the art of living and not religious dogmatism. you can be a christian and be a buddhist. just reading your comments i sense you are small minded and lack empathy and compassion for others. did you learn that from jesus?

@MoDeeSeventyThree If you have no teacher of higher initiation then you have no other choice but to have yourself as authority. We all have within ourselves the prospects of evil and though we try to be righteous at times we fail and succeed. So I choose to follow Christ because He is greater than me. he conquered evil and death so I try to follow in his footsteps and when I failed He helps me and takes the pain within me. My Master is my brother, friend, and teacher.
