Footage from the Japanese Version of Mortal Kombat 2.

The game is censored to a ridiculous degree, and this short video shows what is censored and what isn't.

  • I do believe this is a rom hack, as I have this version on my computer. I can't remember the name of the rom hack but it did have something to do with some obscure street fighter name. If not, this is both funny and sad. It's like the censored the colour red aside from on people's pants. XD

  • @RobChapman91

    It's not a romhack, It's officially recognised my goodtools as a japanese release

  • @RoundEyeBooda

    And what leads you to that conclusion, apart from your years of Aikido training?

  • Remember kids: Your blood is green, not red.

  • @RobChapman91 I know. I'm sorry about that, too.

  • @Spriggangirl You don't have to say 'no', I didn't disagree with you. When I said I don't personally agree with it, I meant with the amount of censorship they put on the game. Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear on that. ^^;

  • @RobChapman91 No, this IS the actual Japanese version, my friend.

    When Mortal Kombat II came to Japan, Acclaim had to change every bit of blood and gore from red to green.(I see it as ooze.)

    And the fatality screen just turns to black and white, so no one would be completely grossed out by it.

  • @MRMIdAS2k Ahh, so that's the kicker. I guess that makes sense, although I personally don't agree with it. XD

  • @MRMIdAS2k Wow. I just don't get it. Japan made and released several games way more violent than this for the NES (FC) and SNES (SFC) lol.

  • Both my uncle and I already know that in the Japanese version, the blood color is change to green, but we called it ooze.

  • @SvenStadt

    It can't be though. Last time I checked, they have the same hardware.
