Launched in 1990 the Hubbel Telescope continues to bring us amazing images showing such things as galaxies in all stages of evolution, including toddler galaxies that were around when the universe was still young, helping us understand how galaxies form and 'revealing' the age of the Universe to be about 13 to 14 billion years -
Just looking at some of these images showing the enormity, beauty and sheer scale of the known Universe has to prompt the internal dialouge - "what is our role in the 'bigger picture' " and for me, renders pointless the question "are we alone in the Universe"
