i cant stand how scientists think that theres nothing more to the universe than atoms and neurons, if that was all there is then it wouldnt make any sence how the universe came to existance and how our bodies are able to be conscious of things and how is it that our bodies which are made of atoms are able to observe other atoms, what is observing? there has to be more to the world than atoms and molecules and cells and neurons, and atoms may not be what we think it is
I believe that the brain, just being one part of our body, it may well be, that consciousness is derived from a cooperation of the brain and other parts of the body.
We may have to measure the interaction of the brain with e.g. the intestine... which is just as vital to survival. Not so a body without a limb or limbs or with only one kidney. We have to ask ourselves: what is necessary for the body and mind to function, and which parts aren't...
