This is the old Mataura river bridge on the Seaward Bush line. had wooden trusses at each end hence it's 'isolation' from both river banks. It now has the attention of Environment Southland, who want it removed but can't squeeze funds out of NZ Rail Corp (who own it - not Kiwirail) to help.

where bouts is this in the southland? as i am from that area... is it off the old owaka line?
