Haha! friggen awsome.. I like to keep things simple and that is as simple as it gets. Great job my friend! Thats almost easier than pulling a .22 bullet apart and using its gun powder. Your to the wild/camper what I am to gun nuts. :)

Nice and simple.

Useful video. I look forward to using it as soon as I can. Texas has been under a fire ban most of the year, due to a drought. Some counties are beginning to lift the ban. Ken

@ihikearoundcom I'm heading out tomorrow morning for a snow / ice trek in the Sierras. I'll be bringing this along. If you want the ultimate, check out the "Amazing Cottonball" by Bushcraft Bartons. That thing will burn for 9 minutes. It's a far more elaborate process.

Rockin out with EnjoythewildUSA today! Ya baby. OK. Easier to make than the wax soaked cotton balls. I'll give you that one. However the balls burn for 10 to 15 minutes and will bring two cups to a rolling boil.

@EconoChallenge I am going to try your method next. This method works simply for me. Couldn't be easier. I just returned from a trek in the High Sierras. We camped at 9,500 ft one night in the only dry clearing we could find. Without a good knife to get at dry wood and this fire starting method, we wouldn't have had fire. I have to say, how could you beat TEN MINUTES? Good to hear from you my friend.
