@doze12210 50 MB is not a lot of ram for a program that doesn't work??? Its the biggest recourse hog ever. ESS, KIS and CIS all take around 23 MB of ram and they are 100x better than anything McAfee ever came with. I know your comment is 10 months old but just saying. :D

I'm actually amazed, it came with my laptop and was constantly deleting all my old keygens and stuff, and when ever I tried to unquarantine them, it detected and re-quarantined, it's really annoying for advanced users due to it's idiot proofing. Though I've never really tried it that much, it was that much of a resource hog I just uninstalled it and swapped it for avast, I seriously never expected it to beat almost all of it.

It may seem that way, but these tests are no way official tests. They will have good days and bad days with tests like this. To be accurate you need a bulk malware test. You also need to use the same malware in every test.

if you have the resources, mcafee is probably the most effective paid av suite.

You are quite wrong there ;) There are much better alternatives that can prevent almost 100%. Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, Norton Internet security 2010 and Avast Internet Security are all better. There are more too.

i guess you have a point. I'm considering buying KIS 2010 1 user. it's better than mcafee right?

Much better. IMO, it is the best paid suite.
