Plane Crash Passmore BC - Kootenays

TMTV News Nelson BC Canada - A plane made a forced landing and crashed into a field in the Slocan Valley near Passmore B.C. The Cessna 177 was flying from Revelstoke BC to Trail BC when the pilot made a mayday call because he was out of fuel. The plane was from the Trail Flying Club. The pilot is fine, however Captain Quaalude looks and sounds like he's about to crash.

What is that cop looking for in the gas tank? Always fishing for trouble. The pilot might have been high though to run out of gas, but come on mounty, give it a rest. They always check your tanks when you land at a port of call,but the pilot didn't leave the border.

@210482fmj The same goes for automobiles, bicycles, rollerblades, horses or whatever else you use for transportation. You can get killed doing any of those things. You're saying your car is a perfect, fail safe, faultless machine and that riding in it will never, ever, kill you? It's impossible?

@Palexb14 I don't really look at it like that. I have heard so many people who always talk about flying being the safest form of transport and comparing it to driving a car. The facts is crashes can and do occur sometimes and that in itself proves it is not fail safe or faultless

@210482fmj Definately not a "cheap" airplane, and pilots in the US and Canada are held to very high standards, as well as the aircraft. You have much higher odds of being killed in a car crash than even being in an aircraft having any sort of major issues.

@jrossi9250 They said that there were passengers aboard. They would have been unable to add full fuel with more than a passenger or two, due to weights. Even if he was watching his fuel, it's still possible that he was unable to make it to an airport at all once he realized the severity of his problem, or he figured he'd just try and make it.

cheap airplanes still seem like sketchy machines and they are often crashing alot more than commercial airliners do. They are obviously not as safe as commercial aircraft
