bassist is stiff as cardboard. like every 80's "swing bassist" i ever played with (except Doug and Tom and sometimes Mr. Lester . if i left anyone out that WAS swinging, i apologize.) why did bass playing evolve to such straight time feel in the 70's 80's? because the drummers were overplaying?
i never understood that. and i'm sure glad its goin back to real swing, ala j terrasson groups. I WAS RIGHT YOU SQUARES!!!!!!!

Man, I was around when the Emily Remler phenomenon came about-her years at Berkeley. She was a trailblazer-not only because she was a woman but because she was so fluid and so musical-and got that way in a relatively short period of time. From 1 guitarist to another, Emily, you were my hero....I miss you

Nice to see this! First time I have seen a video of Emily Remler, who passed away much too early. Nice playing by everyone all the
way around, just too short, that's all.
It's great to see the Emily Remler works being available on YouTube, many never having been on her albums, of which I have every one she made. She was already one of the truly great jazz guitarists when she died; it's just that nowadays only real aficionados seem to know about her.
