It's great to see the Emily Remler works being available on YouTube, many never having been on her albums, of which I have every one she made. She was already one of the truly great jazz guitarists when she died; it's just that nowadays only real aficionados seem to know about her.

bassist is stiff as cardboard. like every 80's "swing bassist" i ever played with (except Doug and Tom and sometimes Mr. Lester . if i left anyone out that WAS swinging, i apologize.) why did bass playing evolve to such straight time feel in the 70's 80's? because the drummers were overplaying?

i never understood that. and i'm sure glad its goin back to real swing, ala j terrasson groups. I WAS RIGHT YOU SQUARES!!!!!!!

I sat against her just couple of days before she passed away, and I noticed she smoked incredible much at that time, one cigarette and then another. Fine woman. I hope some person will do something to make her Famous among all this Guitarplayers to day !!!!!!!!!!!!!! She was a trailblazer-not only because she was a woman but because she was so fluid and so musical-and got that way in a relatively short period of time.
