  • What a lovely suprise to hear this song on YouTube,

I sang this song at Cropredy festival some years ago with Fairport Convention.

Love to Simon, Sylvia, Peggy and the guys.

    Sheryl and Sheila Parker xxx

  • @Sharlotte818 ...and what a lovely surprise to hear from someone who has performed this wonderful song with the great Fairport's.I regret i have never made it to Cropredy but I am sure you did the song justice...Many thanks for listening.

  • Thank you, this is so beautiful! I first heard Linda (Peters!) and was it Brian McNeil ? in a Folk Club in Bolton late 60s and always been a fan. Her large dog was with her and it had just come on heat for the first time!!! funny what you remember isn't it?

  • @How2rec Thank you for your comments.Indeed it was Brian McNeil, who later played fiddle for The Battlefield Band.I think anyone who has seen Linda cannot help but be touched by her beautiful voice.

  • shit, my socks just melted there.

her voice could always break the stoniest heart, but that's Glasgow for you.

Art did seem to wander at the end but you can be forgiven.

  • @Kenentigern7 Fair comment on the art,I cringe myself when I play it back.I think it had taken me so long to get to the last minute of the song I had almost lost the will to care. However breaking a stoney Glaswegian heart is more than compensation. It moves a Dorset heart as well. Thanks for listening.

  • This is just so lovely I am lost for words, unusual for me. I will listen to this again straight after it has finished. Have loved Maddy Priors version in the past and still do but this is magic.
