An old skip, now on video for the first time. Saves over 1 minute compared to doing normally.

aren't you stuck without a handle for the crank? how you keep going in the game if you skipped the spike room?

You can just jump past the flame spout as well. There's a video of it (I think the newest version is v4 currently) on Youtube.

thirteen (ish?) IJ charges versus dealing with the "spiky floor room".

In terms of speed that is a no brainer.

In terms of difficulty......

Less than thirteen. 11 or 12 with a jump.

I was surprised to see how long the spike-room revolvation took when I measured it. 1 minute and 45 friggin' seconds! Therefore the skip is very much worth it, even if it is slightly painful to do.
