Well the name Mir is from German Decsent. So maybe hisfather lived in Cuba. But Mir most defintely isnt a cuban name. And I am positive i have seen his father at his fights and the guy most definitely does not look cuban. And he was born in Las Vegas... America. He is an American

@cybertiger19 he isnt cuban American. He just has some cuban descendants. It would be like me calling myself and Irish American because one of my grandparents immmigrated from Ireland

@GBOSCH11679 i think that it is because the traditional Brazilian culture is more heavily focused on technique beating overall strength. while America still has the "macho" culture of focusing on strength training and pushing yourself to the limit. American culture still focuses on technique, but the idea of pushing your physical body to its limit is etched into the culture of American sports.

It's amazing how much smoother most Brazilians BJJ is compared to American players. It almost looks like they are in slow motion until you realize that they flow so effortlessly. IMO American BJJ draws heavily on power and is almost a hybrid of wrestling and bjj. Roger is absolutely amazing. His game is almost flawless.
