In this video, watch how to make salted caramel ice cream at home. This ice cream recipe is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser! To make the salted caramel ice cream, first make the ice-cream base. For this, mix cream and milk in a saucepan and warm it.

In another bowl, mix egg yolks with sugar and whisk the mixture till it turns pale yellow. To this bowl, add the warmed milk slowly and whisk again. Cook this entire mixture in the sauce pan for a few minutes. Keep stirring. The base is now ready.

Strain this base mixture through a sieve. Add fresh vanilla, sea salt, and half a cup of caramel to this strained mixture. Whisk again. Chill the base of your ice cream recipe in the refrigerator. Using an ice cream maker, pour the mixture and churn. Your salted caramel ice cream is now ready! Put the ice cream back in the freezer to make it firmer.   • This is a weak version of this recipe. She just adds pre-made caramel to the recipe, and doesn't emulsify the custard completely. Maybe find a better version if you're going to go to the trouble of making your own ice cream.

  • Cool video the only way I usually make ice cream is in a plastic bag. But this way looked easier than shaking a cold bag for 15-20 mins.
