My little boy is the exact same! He's 5 months now, we bought the DVD for him last month. It sure is cute!

Our son also loves the backyardigans. He started loving them early like your little guy. I think it is the little kids voices that play the characters. I used to think it was the bright colors but other colorful shows don't interest him like this one.
