@bhdkid Although I would love to see what would happen, this show went out on a very high note, and I would not want the high note lowered. You know what happens when our fave shows return: major actors are replaced/substituted; writers are different. Unless HBO can do this with the same actors and writers, let's just lean on the nostalgia of this brilliant show.

Pagan values: cruelty a form of virtue and pity is a form of weakness. That seems some kind of extreme statement to me. I mean, the polytheistic religions didn't be evil, or did they? Ah, what a stupid question of mine.

They did the same "modernizing" in I,Claudius as well, which is what makes these two shows so successful, actually. The acting, sets, dresses, etc. are all superbly done, yes, but the fact that the dialogue is modernized makes it so that we can connect better. Nobody today is really interested in a bunch of "thees" and "thous" and "alas/EHUE". It's a MODERN representation of that time period, and a bloody good one, I might add.

Definitely the best show ever made.
I learned a lesson in life from this show. Vorenus showed me a lot about loyalty(to Mark Antony), I will never forget this show and I really hope you can re-new the series and continue again. I KNOW a lot of fans would be very thankful.

In High School the clean cut Christian ones with A's belonging to the chess club would by more Pot from me than anybody else with my amazement on how beautifully concealed they were.
I can't understand why people just can't look at this for what it is..art. Its a story folks, that's all, and a damn great one at that. The acting was top notch, the clothing, weapons, battles very accurate. HBO indeed out did itself with this series. I believe the English accent was necessary to get a sense of classes..the haughty, snobbish aristocrats..and then the sloppy English of the lower classes. Again, great job HBO.

They spoke English in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, treat this as a work of art, not a documentary.
