His comment "This may be the end of this thing", foretold their demise. Pilots have no business reporting on police chases. They must give 100% attention to flying, that's it. These news stations need to stop with pursuing police chases anyway. Leave it to the police.

I witnessed the '76 midair of GW261; Twin Otter vs. Cessna 150 over Whittier. Don't know where it came from, but immediately (within a minute) following the collision there was a single aircraft orbiting the site. Another GW (Golden West Airlines) Otter. It kept vigil for at least 15 minutes. By then the sky was so crowded it was a miracle something like this didn't happen. I've had nightmarish thoughts of what that orbiting crew was going through. I saw the impact and the rain that followed!
