Data recovery could be quite challenging and you should not try it yourself if you aint sure about how to do it. Many data recovery companies offers specialist services at quite an affordable price and some offer free diagnosis info.
Data recovery software abound as well but you you be careful on who you buy from and whether you need to recover the lost data yourself.....

  • How stupid, it's not a faulty drive, but bad case - Lacie = 80% chance of bad PSU.

Also tell people that THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY !!!

SSD can remedy a lot of the mistake that DR now is, but big companies must squeeze every penny out of the old platter technology - after all factories for millions still exist.

And don't give flash drives and SSD to DR - better buy a flash programmer and extract it yourself ;)

  • i have an external drive that doesn't work ....but i don't have a desktop but i have a laptop....i will have to try this method later. thank you .

  • Thank you !! Thank you !! Thank you !! My external drive was not working. I tried your approach, pulled it apart, and plugged in the regular hard drive within to my desktop. Lo and behold, that fixed it. I have all my data back. Photos from the past 5 years and best of all I did'nt pay anyone a dime. Feels good to fix it yourself. Thank you once again !!

  • awesome video

  • god... it so complicated... :-(
