In January 2011, Skate South Australia held demo skating events to show Adelaide City Council that there is a need for an outdoor skating venue. Neil Jesberg and Andrea Winzor from Bayside Blades made the trip with their 2 sponsored slalom skaters. It was very very hot for the demo timeslot on the Sunday afternoon. On the Monday, we skated different locations to try and grab some slalom skating footage, which was very challenging due to the heat and getting asked to leave by security at the Convention Centre because "people complain". It was the only area that was smooth concrete rather than the 30cm tiles that we encountered everywhere else. The video shows a distinct lack of people due to 3 reasons, it's Adelaide......it was stupidly hot and it was a Monday.
