you so luck in this battle cuz i fought in battle 110 vs metagross 4 . quick claw and crit and attack bost my tricker and beat it....that was the game :(
-
@xXJO308Xx I think my best was in the 160s with that team. I eventually ran into Crobat with Hypnosis and then 2 pokemon with 1-hit KO moves. Not a lot I can do against the fastest pokemon in the game sleeping me over and over. =(
-
@MetallicaRulez0 i tried mesprit/drapion/garchomp and my max was 56 :( cant beat 100 streaks. what about u? :( it got annoying to me.
-
nice battle u got lucky ! paralized metagross FTW.
-
@LeShawn91 The whole deal here is based around types. All the moves that are super-effective on my Latias/os aren't effective on Registeel... but are effective on Snorlax.
-
What I realized with evasion is that: it doesnt really matter how much evasiveness you have. At the very most crucial moments, they will always hit you with OHKOs, Crits, Frz/Par/Brn ..... so on. The substitute and curse is sufficient I think. However I'd prefer to use a snorlax as i mentioned recently. It has good atk, resistence to heat/ and ICE..
Well, it's my opinion. I quit after 100, but i'ma try carrying on my streak :)
-
Oh btw I was thinking You should use my fav pokes. instead of that registeel.
Snorlax (Impish)
252 HP, 128 Atk, 128 Def
Curse, Amnesia, Bodyslam* (or Crunch, or a powerful move which has decent pp) and substitute
* May be problematic against ghost pokemon, but I always stall them out because I have MAX pp in all moves :) :)
Snorlax has got better attack. The weak defence is covered by with massive health, Impish nature and maxing out on both defences with setup
-
@LeShawn91 I am afraid you're a little late... I'm already well on my way to 200+ battles.
-
@LeShawn91 luckily none of the BT espeons do! (one of them has bright powder though.)
-
Personally smogon is good only as a reference. you should model your pokemon's ev & iv spread, moves, natures to fit your strategy and party better.
-
I would have Lolled if that espeon had a focus sash :)
-
@NessPKThunder maybe all the people you fight are just others trying to beat the battle tower. or they just have an employee of each trainer class and have a bunch of pokemon each employee switches between
-
Is Metagross part psychic type?
-
@BozoTheBear Wow thanks, smogon's got some great moveset ideas... (laughs) I'm going to be busy for awhile.
-
@MetallicaRulez0 yep - jumpman's good ol' mesprit/drapion combo. it's certainly very good, no questions there. to answer your question about registeel, this team is based on type resistences. sure tyranitar and garchomp have higher attacking stats, but registeel's steel typing allows it to safely set up on a much larger range of foes. and don't forget my 3rd pokemon is a salamence, who gets to set up fairly frequently.
-
@BozoTheBear Oh, thx for the help. I'll surely watch out for this metagross in BT ;D
-
@Vapourification wow i had always believed it was 10% but had never actually looked it up! i guess it's not *quite* as unfair as i had imagined.....
-
@HenrikKnutsen the metagross had already got 2 attack rises, so a single meteor mash would have KO'd salamence easily.
-
Why didn't you just send in Salamence instead? DD a few times then EQ. IDK if its smart, but i'm just asking, in case i face the same Metagross
-
Geez how many employees are in this place O_O.
Okay, here's my question, I recently got my butt kicked from a counter, get rid of substitute, then one hit k.o. move combo. My question is when you face the second PKMN in your opponent's team with a stat raised registeel, should you always substitute twice if iron head's weak against the opponents type? You know, just to see what their strategy will be?

@SalvationStudios1 you really need a good list of the opponent's movesets (you can find it on smogon). most pokes are not a threaty to fully set-up registeel/salamence, but in some cases, yes you need to be *very* careful, and possibly stall them out of OHKO moves with substitute.

Why did you choose Registeel for your booster instead of a much better option like Tyranitar, Drapion, or Garchomp? I run this team using Mesprit/Drapion/whatever and I find Drapion to be MUCH better because he can boost every single stat to +6, including evasion (very important for 1-Hit KO moves later).
Not criticizing you, just curious.

@MetallicaRulez0 also, apparently OHKO moves are not affected by evasion boosting/lowering moves or items.
