  • That's not lumbar extension my friend, that's hip extension. Looks similar but VERY different mechanics from a biomechanical perspective.

    Besides, lumbar extension in itself isn't a problem, it's HYPER extension that becomes the issue.

  • Lumbar extension on the squat? Maybe with bodyweight but thats gonna be tough on the facet joints especially if done under load. If we want to get more extension of the hips then why not lunge? Take Care........
