@FCO0710 yes, that's possible, too. But I like to record the sounds as I hear it in my head, less options at mixdown. less rooms for mistakes re-interpreting the intention.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm not re-amping the original signal, I'm running a microphone through a preamp and re-amper then the pedals, and recording that sound live much like you are. Just a different way of going about it!
