Standing at 42.7 meter (140.09 ft) high, the world's tallest statue of Murugan, a Hindu deity, is located outside Batu Caves, near the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The statue, which cost approximately Rupees 24 million, is made of 1550 cubic meters of concrete, 250 tons of steel bars and 300 liters of gold paint brought in from neighboring Thailand.
At Beryl's it's all about delivering the best chocolates in Malaysia. Ensuring that their chocolates retain the same great taste every time, they use only the very best ingredients. These include beans from Ghana, a globally recognized source of the very best cocoa beans. Our other ingredients receive the same care and attention to detail. I could have eat my way to getting sick with all those samples. Our next stop was Suria KLCC is a 1.5 million sq. feet (139,000 m²) shopping complex located at the base of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur City Centre. It is located on 6 floors, with anchor tenants Isetan, Parkson Grand, Cold Storage Supermarket Tanjong Golden Village, Signatures Level 2 Food Court and Marks and Spencer. Suria is the native Malaysian word for Sunshine. It was opened on 1998. It houses mostly luxury and fashionable shops, as well as cafes, restaurants, a 12 screen cinema, a concert hall, an art gallery, and a Science Discovery Centre, over 6 floors. It is nestled below the Petronas Twin Towers, the 3rd tallest buildings in the world (and the tallest twin towers). It is one of Malaysia's most popular tourist destinations. Since our group couldn't get tickets to the observation area we were next bused to the Kuala Lumpur Tower (officially known as Menara Kuala Lumpur; referred later as KL Tower) is a tall tower located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Its construction was finished in 1 January 1990. It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 421 m (1,381 ft), which currently makes it the eighteenth tallest freestanding tower in the world. The roof of the pod is at 335 m (1,099 ft). The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant, providing diners a beautiful view of the city. The mall outside gave me a chance to see some cultural history and local animals. Too hot to do anything else as we ended up in another mall where we had dinner at a fast food restaurant. The mall was decorated very nice with the New Year celebration in mind. Good time to get bargains.
