The beautiful instrumental "Heartaches" as recorded by Ted Weems and his orchestra back in 1947. The audio has been enhanced to afford an emulated stereo effect. I hope that you will all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you.

  • Hello ctmale1956. I am pleased that you took the time to leave a kind word on this video. It is not the first time that I hear of the RCA pressing of "50 Years of Music That America Loved Best". This recording seems to be iconic. I'm sure someone has a copy of it and is capable of digitizing it. I hope that that is the case.

    God bless you and yours.

  • This song was brought back to the public about 1947...my old friend, Kurt Webster, We both worked at WBT. He was known as the mIdnight mayor of Charlotte. they credited Kurt with the revival of the Ted Weems Orchestra. He was heard from Kennebunkport to Cuba. Perry Como had been with the Weems orchestra...he had homes in NC, Fla, Long Island.. This I can't confirm...the word was Perry wanted to get the Weems orchestra back..Kurt played requests..each night he would play it several times.

  • Hello 76spiritof. Thanks for posting what is really interesting background information as to what you and Kurt Webster were doing at the time that this interpretation of "Heartaches" by Ted Weems and his orchestra lit up the phone lines and the air waves. 1947 was a great year for radio, too. Thanks for your first-person look back at radio's Golden Age. I appreciate it very much. God bless you.

  • I remember this being one of my favorite songs when it was new.

  • I like this version --- THANK YOU.....but does anyone have the RCA mono version? It was on the RCA 33-LP titled "50 Years of Music That Amica Loved Best"........thanks.

  • I love this song. First heard it on a radio station that played oldies from the "big band era" and loved it instantly. Thanks for posting it!!

    Hi,

Concur completely! The same to be said for the 0.7 mm needle as placed to a 45 r.p.m. And even their appearance-I still think record labels are beautiful.

Thanks and hope all is well.

  • Always reminds me of "Raging Bull" with DeNiro and Pesci.
