i usually do these against a wall to prevent any swinging motion with my body, then i keep the ends of the dumbells facing eachother and just lift them keeping my palms down the whole time.... does the twist do anything beneficial or should i be alright?

not realy just more comftable seated

It would probably put you off balance standing up if you put the weight out infront of you. Being seated will keep your back straight and firm so you cannot swing.

With a seated position, your allowing complete isolation in your anterior deltoids.. if you did these standing you'd probably be swinging and begin to activate different muscle groups.

Yes .. while seated you isolate the deltoids ... while standing you are able to "steal" by moving you upperbody front and back using lower back muscles
