Rhett Butler is the epitome of how a real man should conduct himself. our knowledge of what builds attraction with women has been blurred by new hollywood nonsense of shy, socially inept, awkward guys getting the girl by being "sweet" and putting her on a pedistal. A man that is sexually attractive to the vast majority of women has a ton of confidence and self respect, and doesn't put up with her b.s. FRANKLY MY DEAR, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!

Sigh. I love the scene in the movie, but the way in which Mitchell describes their first kiss kills me every time. In the book, Rhett puts his ear to Scarlett's heart after kissing her, listening to it race. I feel faint just thinking about it!
