as a resident of vancouver i can tell you unlike expo 86 nobody is getting displaced by the olympics. they are actually building more social housing because of this and part of the atheletes village has been set a side for social housing after the games

Only 4 indigenous chiefs/band councils welcomed the olympics in B.C. and they are widely considered to be sell-outs who do not speak for the majority of natives.

those are canadas chiefs that were elected through indian affairs. not elected through the people of the western nations. those chiefs that welcomed the olympics are paid by canada. a real chief is elected by the people and is not paid.

but is honored to serve his people and take care of his people no matter what the cost that is a true chief a real chief.

a chief will do what the people ask of him to voice the voices of his people and allow his people to be heard no matter the cost to him.
