But getting important goals in crusial times and scoring betther goals Gerrard is betther.

But no doubt about that Gerrard is betther overall, and have played great for a longer time (hey not messi's fualt he is young) id go for Gerrard.

Also thinkin that Liverpool the last 10 years never really had an absolutely brilliant team, and much realying on Gerrard all the time, Gerrard also scores higher on that scale. YNWA

this is difficult.

messi is technically the better player. in fact he is better than maradona. he has more tallent than gerrard. but gerrard has carried the whole of liverpool through thick and thin. he doesnt even have to touch the ball to make an impact. his presence is immense.

for me gerrard is the better legend simply because he hasnt been tempted by money to play football at the highest level but he has been faithull to the club and has never left his team.

Honestly, If I had to choose out of these two players I'd choose Gerrard. He is the most complete midfield in the world, he's mr motivator, never say die attitude and he has shots which could kill messi.

@commentfightsplease You must be joking. Messi is by all accounts one of the best footballers to have ever played the game at 24 years of age and is still improving. Gerrard is simply a great player
