ATTENTION: Very graphic medical video!!!

Rigid bronchoscopy in October 2011. Clear view of stent in trachea.

Condensed Brief Background;

Head on collision in 1998, trachea crushed and severed
Repaired at U of M in Ann Arbor using scarred lung tissue
Multitude of surgeries
Granular tissue removed frequently
Tracheal walls continuously try to heal shut
Covered stent used to hold airway open
Stent is breaking apart
Cover to stent dislodged into my airway 2009 (that was scary!)

Side Note:
My general health is good, could use to drop some weight :) but with a third of an airway, aerobics aren't in my near future...

  • This is a bronchoscopy over 13 years after my initial injury. If you have any questions or comments I'd be happy to address them.
