Hey, well i was born also with gastroschisis and well, my parents told me that, like our friend, the doctors told them that i was awake but they didn't knew if i was going to survive that day, so here i am, i'm 18 years old, and i'm perfectly healthy =D the only memory of my problem is my ugly scar, because, well in 1991 they didn't have the ability to do nice scars like now, but is not so bad, because i consider my scar like a sign of life =D so i hope that all be happiness from now.

Your daughter is so beautiful! Im seventeen years old now and I was born with gastroschisis as well... Mine was 1/4 of my intestines outside of my body and I have a scar too! My scar looks like the end of a hot dog only inverted a little bit. Its good to know that there are other people out there with the same birth defect. And Its good to know that your daughter has decided to keep her scar... because its a symbol of the treasure of life!

I was born with gastroschisis and the doctor told my parents that they should just say goodbye because there wasnt a chance of me to live. i had over 5 surgeries in the first 5 months of life. and i made it home. now im 16 years old and happy with life and thankful for everything.

Good to hear ,my daughters doing good sweet sixteen now she doesnt mind her scar she was going to get surgery on it but she decided not to because its apart of her what about you do you have a scar? how are you doing?
