I love your vids explaining the different parameters of simulation. It is always a good intro to the different before you get started on the simulation.

I has a question. im trying to simulate a beach setting and need to have the water already in place, not dropped in by an inflow. i cant seem to find any tutorials to help with this

I need some help, as for the viscosity I can't set the exponent to -1.
0 is the lowest I can go but I want a really thick fluid.

@NealDelfeld Just wanted to throw this out there but a free co-op render farm does exists RENDERFARM dot fi

@MrLasla I agree - we need more than a blink of an eye to see what the differences are. If the render times are too long, just loop the clip a few times so we can get a better look at it. As it is, I have to keep clicking on the youtube timebar to loop it myself, which is awkward.

thanks, another great tutorial. :)
I really like your demos. Succinctness is really useful to understanding these tools.
I have two suggestions: See if a renderfarm would be willing to work with you to make longer examples for free -- can't hurt to ask! Make a webpage (or G+ posting, or Wordpress blog, or ???) that shows the same material, but with still images of the concepts. It is hard to search for a concept in the videos, and you still need a fast internet connection to view video.

very nice but it would be nice if the individual clips wee longer than 3 sec. its is kind of hrd to look at all of them besides a glance

@larmannjan
I'm sorry but I really couldn't make it longer
I could have... but I waited already 1-2 hours for each of the 30 simulations (some of them are not in the clip)
Thats why I decided to make it just 4 sek. long^^
