The lyrics are an old norwegian folk song. Its called Anne Knutsdotter. So quite easy to find out.

Finntroll just covered this song as a tribute to Valfar after his death. As others have said, it was a folk song that Windir arranged into a metal version. Valfar and Windir deserve the credit, as Finntroll intended with this tribute. Windir is (was?) the epic band.
