Now the Buildings are undergoing paradigm shift from piece of ART towards piece of Science............gradually Architecture will be fully dependent on Technology. Technologists will get a specialist niche in contributing to sustainable built environment in near future.Proud to be part of CIAT.

How much hand drawing is involved in an AT career? I want to study it at uni, but I'm not the best of drawers and I'm a little worried about that side of the job/degree.

I'm going to study AT, and am starting this year. I was wondering, how is it on the jobs/workplace front at the moment?

@ThePeterLougheed I am studying Architectural Technology at Derby University and in my second year now. In addition to the comment below, as students we have access to all the CAD software available via Autodesk, and each lecture guides you through every aspect of building your own projects from the initial concept ideas to the finished plans and details. If your thinking about a career in architecture, don't hold back because its worth it.
What is the difference between Architectural technologist and Architect... Can someone explain it to me in detail... cheers

Do you guys get to design your own buildings? Like if you have an idea for let's say a house, In your job are you able to design that idea and actually get to follow through with building it or are you only able to work on buildings that the architect designs?

@ThePeterLougheed Hello - yes, Chartered Architectural Technologists can work on a project right from inception through to completion. They will design the building as well.
