Gay rights march, Warsaw Poland, Summer 2010

Some people say that gay people are not allowed to have pride marches in Warsaw without either some ultracatholic politicians stopping them as an unlawful assembly or nazi bullyboys marching against them and throwing things at them and insulting them, but as you can see from this first hand footage as the gay march passed my window, nothing could be further from the truth!

@lamareikan666 Well, it may be difficult for you to get used to this idea, but I'm afraid i have to tell you that Polish people won't blithely follow your leadership just because you are an American. That is not really a working assumption these days any more.

I'm learning Polish, I got the Polish blood in me, I will be like the Martin Luther King Jr. of gay people. Our day will come, I just know it.

But leadership is not a piece of cake - do you think you have the qualities of leadership, if so why, and if not, is it that you just assume that because you'll come from America, Poles will listen?

@usenetposts I know how to win friends and influence people, I'm actually quite popular at my school. I'm not one of those Americans who thinks they can easily save the world, I'm learning about the culture and the language. And if I don't have the option to lead, I can just protest in a group like these people seen here.
