Photonic Micro Emitters - Tal Carmon

Micron-scaled photonic devices are being continuously improved by reducing their size and their optical dissipation, which gives rise to new phenomena. Above, light enhanced by multiple recirculation in a micro sphere pushes the electrons to oscillate with amplitudes so large that they start vibrating in a non-sinusoidal manner that includes high harmonics such as one that emits the colorful visible light.
