@CharlieDoan Sounds like a 22r to me. If they aren't rattling, something is probably wrong!

Goodkill the reason it sounds loppy and thumpy is the cam and side drafts carbs I have the same setup and I always get asked that

@CharlieDoan it has spark plugs so it's not diesel just to let ya know. I'm not 100% sure why it sounds the way it does besides the fact that it has rocker arms, maybe upgraded ignition coil. My buddy has a 77 Celica w\20R but it sounds way smoother than this. Prolly because my buddies is a stock cam shaft with steel rocker arms. (22re has aluminum) Also my buddy's got 29 mpg from arkansas to florida ^^ still the 20\22r series is a great solid motor.

How is this model Diesel compare to Gasoline 22RE? Never have a Diesel in my life!!..How is maintenance? easier than gasoline or not?? I knew 1 thing is very hard to find DIESEL station where you go away from the city, sometimes gas station do not have DIESEL!! Bad thing right there as I know..I hear Diesel must run hot...Please share and educate me please. Thank you my friends!

@Drewtitus i build theses engines and most of my boys got them and i seen them do 12.8 all motor and our bud light truck out here on da island does 10.7 on nos and we got a starlet with the 22r with turbo that ran a 10.2 so to let you know its more than 80hp.

how bout revving that engine a lot harder to hear those webers and the cam , Sugestion , get a electric fan , it works better less drag at higher RPM, NICE ENGINE INDEED 420dude haha.

Yeah i would have but we had just put the cam in. Getting rid of truck just got another 84 so more vids once im done with my new truck.
