My quick review of thermal protection sprays I have used in the past & what I prefer to use the most when I straighten.

I straighten ~2x a month for those who wanted to know.

  • @Sera2544 would you say the longer your hair the less shrinkage you get? my hair is currently nose length and shrinks quite a lot. Just wondering if there`s any possibility of my hair not shrinking to a TWA when its very very long.

BTW anyone can answer this question.

  • @Rubydieseru

I would say more length lessens the magnitude of the effect of shrinkage. From midback length and beyond the most my hair shrank was chin length into a floppy -fro (not a TWA) so I think you should be fine once you get beyond armpit length depending on the tightness of your curls. HTH

  • I know I've asked you before but are you a 4a?

  • @miltonmarie

I'm predominantly 4b with very little 4a. HTH

  • Wish you all well with the family and thank you for making clear the difference between heat protection; water and oil base.

  • Thanks Sera!!! You are so wonderful!!! Lovely as always!!!!

Slight change, but not significant; no I would not have done it earlier in my journey because it would affect my length retention.... I would say do your research, find the right heat protection for your hair & use heat carefully & keep an eye on those ends (if you notice more splits after increase in heat usage; then you would find what amount & frequency of heat usage your hair can tolerate). Keep on schedule with deep conditions they really hlp.
