NO ON POMBO - Protect endangered species!

The California Condor is a miracle success story related to the Endangered Species Act. The largest birds in N. America teetered on the brink of extinction with only 22 condors known to exist in 1987. Now they are breeding in the wild again following a massive effort by activists and scientists as mandated by the Act. But CA 11th CD Representative Dick Pombo calls the act too expensive. He has made it his main legislative initiative for more than a decade in Congress to gut the Act in favor of large real estate interests. How can you place a value on a species like the CA Condor? What would the world be like without them? NO ON POMBO in 2006. Elect Jerry McNerney to Congress. Not authorized by any candidate or candidate's committee.
