@Jibbie49 Or perhaps people predisposed to Alzheimers lack grip strength, I'd be wary of causal relationships in stuff like that.

I dunno about tendon/ligament/unseen, I think this would develope muscles and you would see them.

I read a medical study that found people with good grip strength were much less likely to develop Alzheimer's. Since hand exercises are not something most people think about, it seemed smart to encourage it. Maybe it ties into the "eye-hand coordination" we hear about in childhood.

What amount of weight would you recommend for someone just starting out? The only reason I ask is I'm going to have to buy the plates, so I'd like to know what I should get. 5's and 10's? Anything lighter?
