Yes, she did it and she's paying the price, but that said, this guy was a manipulative sociopath and he targeted someone who he knew he could manipulate into doing the deed. Left to her own devices, chances are she would never have dreamed of harming anyone, left to his own devices, he used and harmed people as a way of life.
